NEWS ALERT: Ringling Bros. to Halt the Use of Elephants
On March 5, Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus announced it will end the use of elephants in its shows by 2018. In a news release on its website, CEO Kenneth Feld stated, “This decision was not easy, but it is in the best interest of our company, our elephants and our customers.” He did not address whether Ringling will end the use of other exotic animals. The following video was produced by the students of the Pace Environmental Policy Clinic in support of New York State legislation to ban the use of all exotic animals in circuses.
